  • Impregnation of chitin from snail shell and cellulose from rice straw using thiourea as impregnnant agent has been carried out. The material from impregnation was characterized using FT-IR spectrophotometer, which compared with FT-IR spectrum of chitin and cellulose before impregnation. The results showed that impregnation process was successfully carried out, which was indicated by wavenumber both for chitin and cellulose in the FT-IR spectrum. Determination of kinetic parameter shows adsorption process followed the rate order reaction in the term adsorbent from impregnation (0.006 minute-1) > chitin(0.005 minute-1) > celulose (0.004 minute-1) Thermodynamic parameter which was determined from dsorption capacity indicated adsorbent from impregnation (5x10-4 mol/g) > chitin (2.5x10-4 mol/g) > cellulose (0.63x10-4 mol/g).
