- The objective of this research was to identify potency and inhibitant of ruminants livestock development concerning pasture availability and labours and analizyng the priority of ruminants government livestock agency in Ogan Komering Ulu Selatan South Sumatera. This study was done from Januari to Februari 2007. Calculation method used effective capacity calculation of ruminants population improverment (Livestock Directorate General, 1998). The result showed that value for effective capacity of ruminants population (KPPTR) in Ogan Kemering Ulu Selatan in positive about 205364,34 ST. main priority the developing of ruminants livestock area in Ogan Komering Ulu Selatan are Banding Agung, Muara Dua, Buay Pemaca, Pulau Beringin, Simpang, Buay Runjung, Buay Sandang Aji, Muaradua Kisam, Kisam Tinggi, And Mekakau Ilir.
