- National health insurance becomes an important issue in Indonesia since the implementation of The National Social Security System (Sistem Jaminan Sosial Nasional) in Law no. 40/2004 and Law no.24/2011 about The Social Security Provider’s Bill (Badan Pelaksana Jaminan Sosial Nasional). Strategic issue concerning sustainability of social health insurance in line to the government inisiative to pursue universal health coverage in Indonesia in 2019. It is essential to ensure the rights of citizens in South Sumatera Province in obtaining quality, affordability and sustainability of health care. Since 2009 the local government of South Sumatra Province implemented local heatlh insurance completed another health insurance to reach local universal coverage. This paper will discuss about the factors should be developed to maintain and sustain the implementation of social health insurance for the whole community.
