- The objective of this research was to analyze the efficiency of input factor user for oil palm plantation in production center of South Sumatera. The resuts was expected would give more complete information on input factors efficiency in order to develop and increase oil palm productivity. The research was taken place in four districts in the province, namely Musi Banyu Asin, Ogan Komering Ilir, Musi Rawas and Banyu Asin. Sample of oil palm farmers were selected from two firm in the districts base on three diffrent block ranges of age of the threes, each was grouped in 4-9, 10-20, and morethan >20 years old, while for the plantations in the province. The general results showed that : (1) coefficient signs of several input variable were conform with the theoritical and logical expectation. In Musi Banyuasin was revealed that Urea and SP3 fertilizers still determined productivity of the oil palm plantations in the form of fresh fruit bunches (PBB). In the districts of Musi Banyuasin , Ogan Komering Ilir, and Musi Rawas labor wage negatively afeected the FFB production although only significant in Musi Banyuasin; (2) Uses of Urea, SP36, NPK fertilizers, pesticide, and labors in all districts were not efficient, showing the overuse of the inputs in the oil palm plantations in South Sumatera.
