  • Boiler is a closed vessel in which water is transformed into steam.The heat could be generated from several kinds of fuels, such as natural gas, oil,and coal through a combustion process.In a combustion chamber, heat is transferred to the water through several pipes.The pipes could be for water flow or heat flow.Based on these pipes, there are two kinds of boilers: water and fire tube boilers.In PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang, steam required in the process of fertilizer production such as the process of urea that based on fertilizer granulation and activator power in a steam turbine.The need of steam is supplied by a Waste Heat Boiler (WHB) using waste gas from gas turbine as a fuel.The use of WHB is an implementation of cogeneration technology from gas power electricity generator (gas turbine).This research is focussed on WHB in Pusri III (3O-3003-U) because it operates continually in order to study the effect of flue gas from gas turbine towards the performance of WHB. The performance is influenced by steam capacity production, fuel energy from the combustion process and waste gas energy from gas turbine.At the maximum steam capacity (80 ton/h), the highest efficiency of WHB can be calculated approximately 93.90% with flue gas energy from gas turbine is 35303207.76 kkal/hr
