- Rubber is mostly attacked by termite (Coptotermes curvignathus) and it is able to cause the rubber death. This survey aimed to determine the population and termite damage on rubber in South Sumatra. The results showed that dominant pests found attacking the rubber was the termite, C. curvignathus. Of the five districts/cities (OI, OKI, Muara Enim, Prabumulih, and Muba) surveyed was found termites attacked the rubber. The termites were commonly found on rubber plantations belong to farmers who were rarely cleaning their farms. On company plantations, the termites were rarely found. Termite populations in the rubber plantations reached peak of 63.2 larvae/plant, while their damage were 0.67% or 100 plant samples infected 1-2 plants.
