- The purpose of research to decided the right dosage of dicamba herbicide and crop spacing which can control nuts edge in hybrid corn field. The research was conducted at Sako, Kenten, Palembang on red yellow podsolic soil with altitude 4 m from the sea level, from January to April 1995. The design was split plot, with the main plot crop spacings and subplot dosage of dicamba herbicide. Treatment of crop spacings were 75 cm x 15 cm, 75 cm x 25 cm, 75 cm x 35 cm, while the dosage of dicamba herbicide treatments were 0, 0,25, 0,50, and 0,75 l ha-l. Result showed that best control of nuts edge obtained on dosage of dicamba herbicide 0,75 l formulation ha-1, but the highest dry weight of hybrid corn seed gotten on dosage 0,50- 0,75 l formulation ha-l. Dasage of dicamba herbicide 0,75 l formulation ha-l was not toxic to hybrid corn. At the treatment of crop spacings, the best control of nuts edge and the highest of seed corn dry weight obtained on the 75 cm x 15 cm crop spacings.
