Daftar Isi:
- The air of the research is to study the effect of delignification and fermentetion process of nilam using mold on its obtained oil. The nilam leafs (Pogostemon cablin Benth) is collected from Pandan Dulang village of Tanjung Agung-Muara Enim in South Sumatera. The research was conducted in Baristan Laboratory of Palembang. Nilam leafs was delignificated with NaOH 0,25% and heated at 55 oC and 80 oC, followed by fermenting the leafs with Trichoderma viride mold for 2,4,6 and 8 days. The fermented leafs were then distilled for 8 hours at 100 + 2 Oc. Samples were taken from each step on distillation 2,4,6, and 8 hours for calculating the yield and analyze their mass and refractive index. The yield was calculated by gravimetric method, the mass by ISO R 279-1962 E and refractive value by ISO R280-192 E method. Delignification at 55 oC, 6 days fermentation and 8 hours distillation shown the highest result, with 2,35% (w/w) yield, mass 0,958 g/cm3 and refractive index 1,509 nD25 fulfill the National Standard of Indonesia 06-2385-1991.
