- This research was carried out in experiment station of Agricultural Faculty, Sriwijaya University. The aim of the research was to evaluate the effects of growth medium between yellowed-red podzolic with river mud compost to seedling growth of robusta coffea. The research was carried out from Juny 2005 till November 2005. Experiment design which used was completely randomized design with five treatments of four replication with each treatment using three plants. Variables which be observed was increase of plant height, increase of leaf amount, fresh weight of seedling, fresh weight of roots, dry weight of seedling, dry weight of roots and chlorofil content of leaves. The result of analysis of variance showed that growth medium composition effect most significantly to increase of plant height, increase of leaves amount, fresh weight of seedling, fresh weight of roots, dry weight seedling, dry weight of roots. Composition between yellowed-red podzolic soil and river mud compost at composition (3:3) is the best treatment to seedling growth of robusta coffea.
