- The quality of electricity supply at consumer‘s side is highly effected by the availability of power at power station. For that reason the adequate of power with high reliability is needed. The reliability of electrical power system can be expressed by using a number of reliability indices. The most commonly used indices are SAIFI (System Average Interruption Frequency Index) dan SAIDI (System Average Interruption Duration Index). These indices indicate how frequently the system is interrupted and the duration of system interrupted. The calculation of SAIFI and SAIDI for Sumatera Bagian Selatan interconnection system requires probability of outage indices (λ), outage duration (r) dan anuual outage time for installed power system and calculation is carried out by using software Etap 7.0.0. From the result of calculation for Sumatera Bagian Selatan interconnection system, the value of SAIFI is 3,0716 failure/consumers/year. This value is very closed to the standar value determined by PT. PLN (Persero) i.e. 3 failure/consumers/year. On the other hand, the value of SAIDI is 34,6482 hour/consumers/year which is much higher than the standar value determined by PT. PLN (Persero) i.e. 1,67 hour/consumers/year. So it can be concluded that the interconnection system of Sumatera Bagian Selatan is not reliable.
