- This paper reports on the investigation of optimum cutting condition in term of tool life and surface roughness when end milling titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) using uncoated solid carbide under flood conditions. Factorial design of experiment coupled with response surface methodology (RSM) were used in developing the predicted mathematical models in relation to the primary machining variables such as cutting speed, feed and radial rake angle. Overlay plot was also constructed and used in determining the optimum cutting conditions for a particular range of cutting conditions. Experimental results showed that the primary machining variables have a significant effect to the optimum cutting condition when end milling Ti-6Al4V.
