  • The secondary metabolites compound from endophytic fungi Penicilliumsp living in kunyit putih rhizome plants (Curcuma zedoaria (Berg) Roscoe) havebeen isolated. Isolation began with cultivation of Penicilium sp fungi in 8 L ofPDB’s media (Potato Dextrose Broth) until 24 days. The PDB’s media wasextracted partially used ethyl acetate and then evaporated following byevaporation. The extract ethyl acetate was separated and purified by gravitycolumn chromatography techniques. The structure of these pure compound wasdetermined by spectroscopy methode (UV, IR, 1D and 2D NMR) and theantioxidant activity was tested by used DPPH (1,1-difenil-2-pikrilhydrazil)methode. From extract ethyl acetat was obtained a pure compound in form ofcolorless oil (20 mg). Based on the analysis of spectroscopic data, the isolatedcompound was bis (2-etyhl hexyl pthalate). These isolated compound showed IC50value > 100 μg/ml which indicate that compound is inactive as an antioxidant.
