- Planetarium is a dome-shaped semi-circle building that serves as a theater to demonstrate a simulation of stars and celestial objects for the recreational needs as well as education of astronomy in addition to the observatory. Palembang has the potency to build a planetarium as the south Sumatera Province in currently under going extensive development in various aspects, apart from the fact that the province also lacks of similar facilities. Planetarium requires a variety of advanced technologies to run its operation, therefore the concept of Hi-Tech architecture would be able to represent this planetarium building. Hi-Tech architectiure concept itself is a school of architecture which leads to the idea of the modern architectural movement that expresses the impression of a building structure and technology. Analisys and amalyzing related theories qualitativel. However, hoe to plan a building yhat can be categorized as a wide span building in Palembang, which is mostly wetlands are.
