The Effectiveness of Animation Video Media Towards Students' Vocabulary in Writing at State Senior High School 1 Ranah Pesisir

- The purpose of this research was to determine was there any significant difference on students’ vocabulary in writing between those who were taught by using Animation Video Media and those who were taught with Conventional Technique at class X MIPA of State Senior High School 1 Ranah Pesisir. In this research, the researcher used Animation Video Media as a Media that used to teach in experimental class. This was an experimental research type. Post-test experiment and control group were used to analyze the data. The population of this research was all of the students at class XMIPA of State Senior High School 1 Ranah Pesisir that consist of 98 students divided into four classes. Two classes were taken as sample of the research by using cluster random sampling. The sample classes were taken by giving the lottery. The result shown that XMIPA 4 an experimental class consist of 23 students and XMIPA 5 as a control class consist of 22 students, writing test was used to collect the data. The treatment was done for six meetings. The test was given to both classes with the same topic. The data of this research were analyzed by using Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS)-16 programs. T-test was used to analyze that students’ post-test score. The result of this research showed that the means score of students’ posttest at experimental class (73.87) was higher than the mean score of students’ posttest at control class (68.04). The result calculation of the test shown that 〖t-〗_calculate (3.350) was higher than 〖t-〗_table (1.6810) with a= 0.05. The hypothesis was accepted. It means that, teaching writing by using Animation Video Media gave significant difference on students’ vocabulary in writing at class XMIPA of State Senior High School 1 Ranah Pesisir. Statistically, it showed that teaching writing by using Animation Video Media gave significant difference toward students’ vocabulary in writing at class XMIPA of State Senior High School 1 Ranah Pesisir. Therefore, this media can be recommended for English teacher should consider the use animation video Media as a Media in teaching writing for getting significant difference on student’s Vocabulary in writing.
