The students at class VIII Islamic Junior High School 5 Padang&#xD; Pariaman were lack of writing skill. The students have difficulties in expressing&#xD; their ideas. It can be shown by their activity during teaching and learning process,&#xD; they difficult to use grammar and write a good sentence. In this study, the&#xD; researcher offered Dictogloss Technique to overcome students&#x2019; problems. The&#xD; main problems for this research are does Dictogloss technique give significant&#xD; effect on students writing skill and what components of writing skill can improve &#xD; by using Dictogloss Technique? &#xD; The purpose of this research was to find out the effect of Dictogloss&#xD; Technique toward students&#x2019; writing skill at MTsN 5 Padang Pariaman. Through&#xD; this technique students can improve their writing skill and solve problems in&#xD; components of writing skill like content, organization, vocabulary, language use&#xD; and mechanic. Therefore, the researcher offerd Dictogloss Technique to find&#xD; whether Dictogloss Technique that effective to improve students&#x2019; writing skill and&#xD; to find the components of writing can be improved by using Dictogloss&#xD; Technique. &#xD; This was pre-experimental research. One group Pre-test Post-test design&#xD; was used in this research. There were 70 students at class VIII Islamic Junior High&#xD; School 5 Padang Pariaman in the school year 2017/2018 as the population of this&#xD; research. By using Cluster Random Sampling Technique the researcher took class&#xD; VIII-3 as the sample (experimental class) that consist of 24 students . To collect&#xD; the data, pre-test was given before giving treatment by using Dictogloss&#xD; Technique in five meeting, the post-test was given after doing treatments in this&#xD; research was writing test analyzed by using microsoft excel and looking for the&#xD; percentage Using Subana&#x2019;s theory. &#xD; The result of this research showed the students&#x2019; writing skill was&#xD; improved. It could be seen from the mean score of students&#x2019; writing in post-test&#xD; was 78.04 higher than the mean score of students&#x2019; writing pre-test was 51.79.&#xD; While, t-obtained was 12.98 also higher than t-table was 1.678. It mean that the&#xD; hyphotesis was accepted. The significant component could be improved by using&#xD; was content, organization, vocabulary, language use and mechanic. &#xD; In this concluded that Dictogloss Technique&#xD; can improve students&#x2019; skill on&#xD; writing at grade VIII-3 of Islamic Junior High School 5 Padang Pariaman.
