  • ABSTRACTObjective: This study aimed to identify the correlation between individuals with seropositive IgG anti-Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii) and anti-cytomegalovirus with somatic symptoms using the community-based Somatic Symptom Inventory (SSI).Subjects and Methods: The subjects of the study were individuals with seropositive IgG T. gondii and Cytomegalovirus (CMV) from six cities in Java, Indonesia. This observational study used a cross sectional design. SSI was used as a measurement tool to detect the presence of somatic symptoms in seropositive IgG T. gondii and CMV individuals. Statistical analysis involved logistic regression tests using STATA.Results: The percentage of research subjects with score SSI > 48 in seropositive groups of IgG anti-T. gondii, anti-CMV, anti-T. gondii and CMV were 70%, 62.2%, and 36.2%, respectively. The prevalence ratio values for each group were 1.333, 1.178, and 0.954 with P-value > 0.05 (statistically not significant). Conclusion: Seropositive IgG anti-T. gondii and anti-CMV groups did not have statistical correlations with somatic symptoms based on the SSI measurement. The percentage of individuals with seropositive IgG T. gondii and CMV with somatic symptom was 54.4% out of 103 people.
