  • ABSTRACTMRI is a brain imaging modality that has several advantages over other modalities. Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) sequences are one of the sequences in MRI that can describe the direction of white matter fibers in the brain. The technique provides surgeons with important information about the relationship of white matter to brain tumors. The purpose of this study was to determine the parameters, post-processing techniques, and the role of DTI sequences in displaying diagnostic information on MRI brain with brain tumor cases. The method in this research is qualitative with a literature study approach (literature review). Data analysis was carried out which contained studies on similarities, differences and critiquing parameters, post-processing techniques, and the role of DTI sequences in displaying diagnostic information based on references and providing suggestions that could be given. Literatures search was conducted online at Science Direct, AJNS, POS ONE, Yonsei Med J, JNeurooncol, Frontiersin, JMRI, J Neuroimaging. In the MRI examination of the head in cases of brain tumors, apart from using routine sequences such as T1, T2, T2-FLAIR, SWI, DWI, Perfusion, T1 post-contrast, spectroscopy, you should add DTI sequences. The DTI sequence uses the Single Shot Echo Planar Imaging (SS EPI) technique. Post-processing DTI was analyzed using DTI processing software, to obtain the main eigenvector and a fractional anisotropy (FA) map. The role of DTI sequences in head MRI examination in cases of brain tumors is to determine the pattern of changes in white matter fiber pathways due to the presence of brain tumors, namely: Edematous, Displaced, Infiltrated, and Disrupted. The pattern of changes in the white matter fiber pathway can be considered by neurosurgeons in determining the treatment of patients with brain tumor cases.
