- Hypertension is a type of non-communicable chronic disease that affects the health status of the Indonesian people. According to Udjianti (2011) hypertension is defined as an abnormal increase in blood pressure in arteries continuously over a period if this condition continues to cause cardiovascular damage. Hypertension is a health problem both in developed and developing countries and is the biggest cause of death in the world. Preliminary studies in South Magelang Public Health Center for hypertension cases ranked highest based on patient visit data. This study aims to describe nursing care in patients with hypertension. The method used is a descriptive method with a case study approach through the nursing process. Nursing action is carried out for 3 days, data processing is obtained from the process of assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The results showed that nursing problems include the inability of families to recognize health problems, the inability of families to care for members who are sick, and the inability of families to use health facilities. The conclusion that can be drawn is that the family has a very important role in the maintenance and care of family members who suffer from hypertension so that blood pressure can be controlled thereby reducing the risk of complications.
