- Background: Hypercholesterol is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Control of blood cholesterol level can be done by non pharmacology and pharmacology, non pharmacology can with garlic and pharmacology with anti-lipid drugs, main choice is statin. The purpose of this research is to prove the potential of garlic in honey in changing blood lipid profile of hypertensive patient with hypercholesterolemia.Method: This research is Quasy experiment with Nonequivalen control group design. Sample size it was 22 respondents consisting of control and intervention group, control group with simvastatin generic 10 mg single dose therapy and intervention group plus garlic essence in honey 2 gr. Data analysis used is parametric test Dependent and Independent T-test.Results: Influence on diastolic blood pressure and no effect on systolic blood pressure and lipid profile but there is a real clinical change in the respondent, 95% IK Lower-Upper is more than 1 and the size effect obtained is stretched 0.1- 0.4 (moderate).Conclusion: Administration of garlic essence in honey 2 grams per day for 21 days was only statistically significant in diastolic blood pressure and not significant for systolic blood pressure and lipid profile but had a marked clinical effect.Keywords: Garlic essence in honey, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia
