  • Background : Anemia is a decrease in the number of red blood cells or hemoglobin content in the blood. The largest group who can experience anemia are pregnant women. Existing research has suggested that the administration of concurrent Fe tablets of Vitamin C contained in plants and food ingredients can help iron absorption four times. In this study papaya (Carica Papaya l.) became an alternative as a non-pharmacological therapy.Objective: The effect of giving 110 grams of papaya to changes in hemoglobin, hematocrit, erythrocyte and ferritin levels in anemic pregnant women who received Fe tablet supplementation.Research Method: The design of this study was Quasi Experiment using nonrandomized pretest and posttest design with control group design. The number of samples in this study was 26 respondents divided into 2 groups. Pregnant women who received iron supplements only (control group) and pregnant women who received iron tablet supplementation and consumed 110 gram every day papaya (treatment group) for 14 days.Results: The increase in hemoglobin levels by 29%, hematocrit levels by 35.9%, ferritin levels by 30%, the number of erythrocytes by 48.5% in the intervention group given papaya and iron tablets simultaneously.Conclusion: Giving 110 grams of papaya (Carica papaya l.) for 14 days affects the change in hemoglobin levels, hematocrit, erythrocytes and ferritin levels of anemic pregnant women who consume iron tablets
