- As an island having a special Siberut National Park, the potency of sago palm acreage of 43,937 Ha in Siberut Island should be managed carefully. There has been limited publications or reported papers dealing with sago starch cultivation and manufacturing in Siberut Island. Therefore, this study aimed at collecting some recent activities with regard to the cultivation and manufacturing of sago starch and the commercialitization of the produced sago starch in and out of Siberut Island. The collected information is expected to enrich the strategic planning of sago starch manufacturing in the island, in order to gain sustainable sagopalm agribusiness system in the future.
