  • The hepatoprotective activity of aqueous extract of garlic(Allium sativum) was investigated against acetaminophen induced hepatic damage. Acetaminophen at a dose of 400 mg/kg body weight produced liver damage in mice as manifested by the rise in serum level of glutamate oxaloacetat Transaminase (GOT) and Glutamate Pyruvate Transaminase (GPT) to 259,5 31,9 and 123,7 _ 22,6 respectively, compared to respective control values of 67,8 _ 5,8 and 39 _ 4,1.
