- ABSTRACT BAHARI MUSEUM DESIGN WITH THE CONCEPT OF NEO-VERNACULAR ARCHITECTURE IN BANDAR LAMPUNG Indonesia has an archipelago that stretches across tropical waters between the Indian and Pacific oceans , and from Southeast Asia to North Australia, with its vast archipelago Indonesia is dubbed as the country with the largest archipelago in the world . The Indonesian archipelago has an area of approximately 1.92 million km2, the sea area inland and territorial sea 12 miles covering an area of 3.1 million km2, and the exclusive economic zone (ZEE) 200 miles, covering an area of 2.7 million km2. Indonesia has a coastline of about 81,000 km so that Indonesia is a country that has the longest tropical coastline in the world . Lampung is located at the tip of the south island of Sumatra , and borders directly with the island of Java , into a region that is open and growing rapidly . Province of Lampung with area covering 3,528,835 ha, with the presence of the Strait of Sunda , the province of Lampung Joint Province Jawa Barat and Banten , has " economic advantage" because of the sea lines of communication (SLOC) that track sea trade internationally that connects the ocean Indies by sea China South. The design of a maritime museum in Lampung aims to save , preserve and publish the maritime potential and wealth of Lampung to the public . The theme of post-modern neo vernacular, where the museum is going to dirancan with a mix of architectural vernacular and modrn . But in terms of this , do not take it the whole element architectural vernacular , but only applied to the visualization of buildings and material - material, so that reflected elements of the culture and traditions of the community local . Architecture neo- vernacular featuring elements - elements of the new of a blend of elements vernacular with elements of modern. Key Words : Museum Maritime of Lampung. ABSTRAK PERANCANGAN MUSEUM BAHARI DENGAN KONSEP ARSITEKTUR NEO-VERNAKULAR DI BANDAR LAMPUNG Indonesia memiliki kepulauan yang membentang diperairan tropis antara samudera Hindia dan Pasifik, dan dari Asia Tenggara hingga Australia Utara, dengan kepulauannya yang luas Indonesia dijuluki sebagai Negara dengan kepulauan terluas di dunia. Kepulauan Indonesia memiliki luas sekitar 1,92 juta km2, wilayah laut pedalaman dan laut territorial 12 mil seluas 3,1 juta km2, dan wilayah zona ekonomi eksklusif (ZEE) 200 mil, seluas 2,7 juta km2. Indonesia memiliki garis pantai sekitar 81.000 km sehingga Indonesia adalah Negara yang memiliki garis pantai tropis terpanjang di dunia. Provinsi Lampung yang berada di ujung selatan pulau Sumatera dan berbatasan langsung dengan pulau jawa, menjadi daerah yang terbuka dan berkembang pesat. Provinsi lampung dengan wilayah seluas 3.528.835 Ha, dengan keberadaan selat sunda, Provinsi Lampung Bersama Provinsi Jawa Barat dan Banten, memiliki “ekonomis advantage” karena merupakan sea lines of communication (SLOC) yaitu jalur laut perdagangan internasional yang menghubungkan samudera Hindia dengan laut Cina Selatan. Perancangan museum bahari di Provinsi Lampung bertujuan untuk menyimpan, melestariakan dan mempublikasikan potensi dan kekayaan maritim Provinsi Lampung kepada masyarakat. Tema post-modern neo vernacular, Dimana museum ini akan dirancan dengan perpaduan arsitektur vernacular dan modrn. Tetapi dalam hal ini, tidak mengambil secara utuh unsur arsitektur vernakular namun hanya diterapkan pada visualisasi bangunan dan material – material, sehingga tercermin unsur kebudayaan dan tradisi masyarakat setempat. Arsitektur neo-vernakular menampilkan unsur – unsur baru dari perpaduan unsur vernakular dengan unsur modern. Kata Kunci : Museum Bahari Provinsi Lampung
