PENGEMBANGAN E-BOOK BERBASIS STEM UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA PADA MATERI BIOTEKNOLOGI

  • Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan e-book berbasis STEM, mendeskripsikan kevalidan substansi dan konstruksi e-book berbasis STEM dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Desain penelitian menggunakan desain pengembangan yang dikembangkan oleh Borg & Gall (1983). Pada tahap penelitian analisis kebutuhan dengan subjek penelitian 6 orang guru dan 90 orang siswa dari 6 SMP di Provinsi Lampung diperoleh hasil bahwa 89% responden menyatakan diperlukan adanya pengembangan e-book berbasis STEM. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 10 orang guru IPA di 10 SMP di Bandar Lampung dan 15 orang siswa SMPN 38 Bandar Lampung. Hasil penelitian berupa respon guru dan respon siswa. Produk e-book yang dikembangkan telah divalidasi para ahli pada aspek kesesuian isi dan aspek konstruksi. Respon guru meliputi aspek kemenarikan, kebermanfaatan dan keterbacaan terhadap e-book. Respon siswa meliputi kemenarikan, kebermanfaatan dan keterbacaan e-book. E-book berbasis STEM pada materi Bioteknologi ini dinyatakan valid. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil validasi ahli dengan kategori sangat valid baik dari aspek substansi (94,5 %) dengan kriteria sangat valid dan dari aspek konstruksi (93,6%) dengan kriteria sangat valid. E-book mendapat respon yang baik dari guru dan siswa. Hal ini dapat terlihat dari respon guru dan respon siswa terhadap e-book yang berkategori sangat tinggi. Kata kunci : E-book, STEM, berpikir kritis, bioteknologi ABSTRACT This study aims to develop e-book based on STEM, to describe the validity of the substance and the construction of e-book based on STEM in improving the students' critical thinking skills. The research design uses R&D with the development design adapted from the development model developed by Borg & Gall (1983). At the need analysis stage with the research subjects were 6 teachers and 90 students from 6 junior high schools in Lampung Province, it was found that 89% of respondents said that it was necessary to develop e-book based on STEM. The subjects of this study were 10 science teachers at 10 junior high schools in Bandar Lampung and 15 students at SMPN 38 Bandar Lampung. The results of the study were in the form of teacher responses and student responses. The developed e-book has been validated by the experts on content suitability and construction aspects. The teacher responses include attractiveness, usefulness and readability aspect of the e-book. The student responses include the attractiveness, usefulness and readability aspect of the e-book. This e-book based on STEM on Biotechnology material is valid declared. This can be seen from the results of the expert validation with very valid categories both from the substance aspect (94.5%) with very valid criteria and from the construction aspect (93.6%) with very valid criteria. The e-book received good responses from teachers and students. This can be seen from the teacher's response and the student's response to the e-book which was categorized as very high.
