- The role of the government in preserving the Lampung language is important because it has full power over the implementation of an area that characterizes the high or low dignity and civilization of an area. The Lampung Adat Balancing Council or abbreviated as MPAL is a community organization or nongovernmental organization (NGO) in the field of culture and customary institutions that play a role as a preservation institution for Lampung customs. This study aims to determine the performance of the Lampung customary balancing council (MPAL) in the preservation of the Lampung language in the city of Bandar Lampung and the obstacles they face. This study discusses based on performance indicators, namely input indicators, process indicators, output indicators, outcome indicators, benefit indicators, and knowing the problems faced by MPAL. The type of research used in this research is descriptive type with a qualitative approach, data collection techniques, observation, interviews, documentation. Informants are determined using a purposive technique where the researcher is the main instrument in the study. The data that has been obtained are then analyzed through the stages of reduction, interpretation, and verification. The results showed that the performance of the Lampung Adat Balancing Council (MPAL) was good and implemented optimally. The achievement of a goal is the target of each implementation of each organizational task, the progress and retreat of an organization seen from the performance of the organization. Keywords: Culture, Non-Governmental Organizations, Performance Peran pemerintah dalam melestarikan bahasa Lampung penting dilakukan karena memiliki kekuasaan penuh atas terselenggaranya suatu daerah yang mencirikan tinggi atau rendahnya martabat dan peradaban suatu daerahnya. Majelis Penyimbang Adat Lampung atau disingkat MPAL merupakan organisasi kemasyarakatan atau Lembaga swadaya masyarakat (LSM) bidang kebudayaan dan lembaga adat yang berperan sebagai lembaga pelestarian adat Lampung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kinerja Majelis Penyimbang adat Lampung (MPAL) dalam pelestarian Bahasa Lampung di Kota Bandar Lampung beserta kendala yang dihadapi. Penelitian ini membahas berdasarkan indikatorindikator kinerja yaitu Indikator masukan, Indikator proses, Indikator keluaran, Indikator hasil, Indikator manfaat, dan mengetahui permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh MPAL. Tipe penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tipe deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif, teknik pengumpulan data, observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi. Informan ditentukan menggunakan teknik purposive dimana peneliti adalah sebagai instrumen utama di dalam penelitian. Data yang sudah didapatkan kemudian dianalisis melalui tahapan reduksi, interpretasi, dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kinerja Majelis Penyimbang Adat Lampung (MPAL) sudah baik dan dilaksanakan secara maksimal. Tercapainya sebuah tujuan merupakan target dari setiap pelaksanaan tugas-tugas organisasi, maju mundurnya sebuah organisasi dilihat dari kinerja yang ada di sebuah organisasi tersebut.
