ABDUL MOELOEK LAMPUNG PROVINCE By SAMINTOLA DOLOK SARIBU Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a degenerative disease characterized by an increase in blood sugar (hyperglycemia). The incidence of DM increases every year due to unattainable recovery, have to take diabetes medication, uncontrolled blood sugar levels and lack of knowledge about diabetes mellitus. This study aims to determine the difference between knowledge about diabetes mellitus with blood sugar levels of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at the General Hospital Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek, Lampung. Methods: This study was a descriptive study using a cross sectional study. Sampling uses non-probability sampling method with the type of consecutive sampling and measuring instruments with questionnaires and blood sugar test. Data analysis was performed using the chi square test. Results: The study was conducted on 35 respondents with the level of knowledge of respondents who had good categories as much as 11.4% followed by adequate categories 14.3% and less as much as 74.3% and the average blood sugar in this study was 285 mg / dL. The chi square test results show the value of p = 0.003. There is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge about diabetes mellitus and blood sugar levels at any time. Conclusion: This study has a significant difference regarding the knowledge of diabetes mellitus with blood sugar levels of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at the General Hospital Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek, Lampung Province. H. ABDUL MOELOEK PROVINSI LAMPUNG. Oleh SAMINTOLA DOLOK SARIBU Latar Belakang: Diabetes Melitus (DM) adalah penyakit degeneratif yang ditandai dengan peningkatan gula darah (hiperglikemia). Kejadian DM meningkat setiap tahunnya yang disebabkan oleh kesembuhan yang belum tercapai, harus selalu meminum obat diabetes, kadar gula darah yang tidak terkontrol dan pengetahuan yang kurang tentang diabetes melitus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan tingkat pengetahuan tentang diabetes melitus dengan kadar gula darah sewaktu pasien diabetes melitus tipe 2 di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek Provinsi Lampung. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan cross sectional study. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode non-probability sampling dengan jenis consecutive sampling dan alat ukur berupa kuesioner dan pengukuran gula darah. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji chi square. Hasil: Penelitian dilakukan pada 35 responden dengan tingkat pengetahuan responden yang memiliki kategori baik sebanyak 11,4% diikuti dengan kategori cukup 14,3% dan kurang sebanyak 74,3% serta rerata gula darah dalam penelitian ini sebesar 285 mg/dL. Hasil uji chi square menunjukan nilai p=0,003. Terdapat perbedaan bermakna tingkat pengetahuan tentang diabetes melitus dengan kadar gula darah sewaktu. Kesimpulan: Penelitian ini memiliki perbedaan bermakna mengenai tingkat pengetahuan tentang diabetes melitus dengan kadar gula darah sewaktu pasien diabetes melitus tipe 2 di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Dr. H.
