- Penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan persepsi Kepala SMA Swasta di Kota Bandar Lampung terhadap Penerimaan Peserta Didik Baru (PPDB) melalui Sistem Zonasi Tahun Ajaran 2019/2020. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan tekhnik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 40 responden dan menggunakan sampling total sehingga sampelnya adalah seluruh populasi yang merupakan Kepala SMA Swasta di Kota Bandar Lampung. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa persepsi Kepala SMA Swasta terhadap Penerimaan Peserta Didik Baru (PPDB) melalui sistem zonasi di Bandar Lampung adalah cenderung negatif. Kepala sekolah paham mengenai sistem zonasi sehingga merasakan kerugian bagi sebagaian besar sekolah swasta terhadap sistem zonasi yang baru diberlakukan di sekolah negeri saja. Tanggapan negatif dari kepala SMA Swasta terhadap sistem zonasi yaitu kepala sekolah menganggap sistem zonasi memberikan dampak buruk hampir kepada seluruh SMA Swasta, karena membuat berkurangnya minat calon peserta didik akan kemauannya mendaftarkan dirinya ke sekolah swasta yang ada. Melihat juga tidak rasionalnya antara jumlah lulusan peserta didik dari SMP dengan jumlah SMA di Kota Bandar Lampung. Kata Kunci: sistem zonasi, kepala sekolah. This study is to describe and explain the perception of the Principals of Private High Schools in the City of Bandar Lampung towards the Acceptance of New Students (PPDB) through the Zoning System for the Academic Year 2019/2020. The method used in this research is descriptive method with quantitative approach and data collection techniques using a questionnaire. The population in this study was 40 respondents and used total sampling so that the sample was the entire population who were the Principals of Private High Schools in Bandar Lampung City. The results showed that the perception of the Principals of Private High Schools on the Acceptance of New Students (PPDB) through the zoning system in Bandar Lampung was likely to be negative. The headmaster understands the zoning system so that he feels the loss for most private schools to the zoning system is only implemented in state schools. The negative response from the headmaster of private high schools to the zoning system is that the headmaster considers the zoning system to have a devastating effect on almost all private high schools, because it makes the prospective learners less interested in their willingness to enroll themselves in existing private schools. See also irrational between the number of graduate students from junior high school with the number of high schools in the city of Bandar Lampung. Keywords: zoning system, principal.
