One obstacle in the cultivation of white shrimp is disease infection. Fucoidan has been shown to have immunomodulatory activity in shrimp. This study aims to evaluate the non-specific immune response of pacific white shrimps (Litopenaus vannamei) which was given supplement fucoidan Sargassum sp. of Lampung seawater. Fucoidan was extracted using the acid method then confirmed by FTIR spectroscopy. Fucoidan extract was coated in feed at a doses of 0, 750, and 1500 mg / kg of feed. Fucoidan was given to white shrimp (18 ± 0.4 g) as much as 3%, 3 times a day for 14 days. Hemolymph was withdrawn from sinus ventral of shrimp on days days 0, 7, and 14, for evaluation of the immune response which includes total hemocyte count, phagocytic activity, phagocytic index, total protein plasma, and the histological profil of hepatopancreatic tissue was observed in post treatment. The results showed that fucoidan supplementation was able to increase the total hemocyte count (THC) of shrimp to reach 9,3x106 cells/ml, phagocytosis index reaches 2.8 with a percentage of phagocytosis activity (AF) of 80%, and total plasma protein reaches 3,9x102 mg/ml. There was no damage to the hepatopancreatic tissue that was affected by fucoidan, both at a dose of 750 mg/ kg of feed and a dose of 1500 mg/kg of feed. This research is expected to be the basis for the development of fucoidan from Sargassum sp. in Lampung seawater as an immunostimulant in shrimp culture.
