- ABSTRACT DUNG BEETLE BIODIVERSITY IN UTILIZATION BLOCK OF THE INTEGRATED CONSERVATION EDUCATION FOREST OF LAMPUNG UNIVERSITY IN TAHURA WAN ABDUL RACHMAN By JEFPRY SAPUTRA Tahura Wan Abdul Rachman is a conservation area that has a high biodiversity of flora and fauna. Tahura WAR consists of utilization Block, protection Block, and other purposes blocks. The activity that is done on other purposes blocks is forest management by the surrounding community with an agroforestry system that combines agriculture and forestry. One of the fauna diversity in Tahura WAR is dung beetle. The dung beetle includes on a group of Scarabaeidae that is famous for his life in the stools. Dung beetle plays an important role in setting ecosystem functions. The research aims to identify the species diversity of dung beetle and species domination of dung beetle in Integrated Education Forest Arboretum of Unila in utilization block and the comparison of the species diversity of dung beetle under and without shade. This research conducted in October–December 2019. The method used is a trap method that is planted parallel to the ground, then the collected data is analyzed by diversity index, alignment index, dominancy index, and abundance index. The results of the study found as many as 27 individuals of dung beetle consist of three species (Cattarsius mollosus, Onthopagus sp., and Oryctes rhinoceros). Dung beetles are more widely found under the shade of the tree than without the shade with the comparison of 17:10; this is because the area is suitable for the flying activity of the beetle, to keep the population of the beetle, Tahura WAR have to maintain sustainability in the utilization block of Tahura WAR. ABSTRAK BIODIVERSITAS DUNG BEETLE PADA BLOK PEMANFAATAN HUTAN PENDIDIKAN KONSERVASI TERPADU UNIVERSITAS LAMPUNG DI TAHURA WAN ABDUL RACHMAN Oleh Jefpry Saputra Tahura Wan Abdul Rachman merupakan kawasan konservasi yang masih memiliki keanekaragaman flora dan fauna yang cukup tinggi. Tahura WAR terdiri dari Blok Pemanfaatan, Blok Lindung dan blok lainnya. Kegiatan yang dilakukan pada blok lainnya adalah pengelolaan hutan oleh masyarakat sekitar dengan sistem agroforestri yang memadukan antara tanaman pertanian dan tanaman kehutanan. Keanekaragaman fauna yang ada di Tahura WAR salah satunya adalah dung beetle. Dung beetle merupakan kelompok dalam famili scarabaeidae yang terkenal karena hidupnya di tinja. Dung beetle berperan penting dalam mengatur fungsi ekosistem. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengidentifikasi keanekaragaman jenis dung beetle dan dominansi jenis dung beetle di Arboretum Hutan Pendidikan Terpadu Unila di Blok Pemanfaatan dan mengetahui perbandingan keanekaragaman jenis dung beetle di bawah naungan dan tanpa naungan. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Oktober 2019- Desember 2019. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode trap (jebakan) yang ditanam sejajar dengan tanah. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan indeks keanekaragaman, indeks kesamarataan, indeks dominansi, serta indeks kelimpahan. Hasil penelitian menemukan sebanyak 27 individu dung beetle yang terdiri dari tiga jenis (Cattarsius mollosus, Onthopagus sp., dan Oryctes rhinoceros). Dung beetle lebih banyak ditemukan di bawah naungan pohon dibandingkan tanpa taungan dengan perbandingan 17:10, hal ini di karenakan wilayah tersebut sesuai untuk aktivitas terbang dung beetle. Untuk menjaga populasi dung beetle, maka diharapkan pihak pengelola Tahura WAR tetap menjaga kelestarian di Blok Pemanfaatan Tahura WAR.
