- Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat motivasi petani dan faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan motivasi petani padi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kecamatan Metro Barat Kota Metro. Responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 72 petani padi yang dipilih secara acak. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dan korelasi Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat motivasi petani termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Nilai motivasi yang dominan dimiliki petani berdasarkan teori Maslow yaitu kebutuhan fisiologis. Kebutuhan fisiologis dalam penelitian ini mencakup kebutuhan sandang, pangan dan papan. Faktor yang berhubungan dengan motivasi petani yaitu luas lahan. Kata kunci : motivasi, petani, tanaman padi This study aims to analyze the motivation level of cultivating rice and factors related to the motivation. This research was conducted in Metro Barat District, Metro City. The samples size in this research were 72 respondent farmers chosen randomly. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis and Rank Spearman correlation. The results of this study showed that the motivation level of farmers was in the medium category. The highest motivation for farmers based on Maslow’s theory is physiological needs. Physiological needs in this study include the need for clothing, food, and shelter. The factor related to farmer motivation was land area. Key words: farmers, motivation, rice plant.
