- Penelitian ini, bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik silika sekam padi menggunakan metode leaching dengan perbedaan variasi asam sitrat 0%, 1%, 3%, 5%, 7% dan 10%. Proses leaching berfungsi sebagai permbersih dari sekam padi yang akan dipanaskan menggunakan kompor listrik sampai pada suhu temperatur 80 0C, kemudian sampel dilakukan pembakaran pada suhu 700 0C selama 5 jam lalu dikaraterisasi. Analisis XRF menghasilkan silika tertinggi sebesar 98,849 % pada konsentrasi asam 10 %. Analisis TG didapatakan pada suhu 50-150 oC terjadi penguapan air, pada suhu 200-350 oC adanya penyusutan kandungan hemiselulosa dan selulosa, pada suhu 350-600 oC adanya penyusutan kandungan polimer. Analisis DTA menunjukan adanya puncak endotermik pada rentang 30-200 ̊C disebabkan adanya proses penguapan air dan senyawa volatil, pada suhu 300-600 oC terjadi pembakaran karbon dan pada suhu 970 oC dan 1000 oC mulai terbentuknya fase tridimit. Analisi XRD menghasilkan puncak tertinggi pada 2θ masing-masing yaitu 21,65o, 21,99o, 21,58o, 22,26o, 22,23o, dan 22,44o menunjukkan silika berfase amorf. Analisi FTIR menunjukkan pada rentang bilangan gelombang 1000-1100 cm-1 merupakan gugus Si-O-Si. Analisis SEM menunjukan bentuk permukaan sampel menggumpal dan tidak beraturan. THE EFFECT OF CITRATE ACID CONSTERATION VARIATION ON CHARACTERISTICS OF RICE HUSK SILICA USING LEACHING METHOD ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the characteristics of rice husk silica using leaching methods with different variations of citric acid 0%, 1%, 3%, 5%, 7%, and 10%. The leaching process functions as a purifier / purifier of rice husk that is heated to a temperature of 80 oC. Then the sample is carried out combustion at 700 oC for 5 hours then charateralized. XRF analysis produced the highest silica at 98.849% at 10% acid concentration. TGA analysis results obtained at a temperature of 50-150 oC water shrinkage occurs, at temperatures at a temperature of 200-350 oC the shrinkage of hemicellulose and cellulose content and at a temperature of 350-600 oC the shrinkage of the polymer content. DTA analysis found that there is an endothermic peak in the range of 30-200 oC the process of evaporation / dehydration of water and volatile compounds. Then at a temperature of 300-600 oC, carbon combustion occurs and also deposited at temperatures of 970 oC and 1000 oC associated with the formation of tridymite phase. XRD analysis produced the highest peaks at 2θ respectively, namely 21.65 O , 21.99 O, 21.58 O , 22.26 O, 22.23 O, and 22.44 O, showed the amorphous phase silica. The results of the FTIR silica functional groups were obtained at the peak point of the range of numbers 1000-1100 cm-1 which includes the vibration group of Si-O-Si. The results of SEM analysis show the surface shape is lumpy and irregular. Keywords: Rice husk, silica, citric acid, leaching method, XRF, DTA-TGA, XRD, FTIR, and SEM.
