- Bandar Lampung masih dikenal sebagai Kota dengan pemeluk agama Islam terbanyak jika dibandingkan dengan pemeluk agama lain tercatat 816,807 jiwa pemeluk menurut data sensus penduduk tahun 2010 maka kebutuhan akan sarana ibadah berupa masjid sangat banyak dijumpai. Masjid-masjid yang terdapat di berbagai tempat kebanyakan hanya difungsikan sebagai sarana ibadah saja, dan belum memenuhi kebutuhan lain seperti kegiatan pendidikan, pendalaman agama, kegiatan sosial masyarakat dan lain sebagainya. Adanya kebutuhan akan sebuah tempat untuk melakukan kegiatan peribadatan, serta maraknya aksi kekerasan yang mengatasnamakan agama, masih ditambah dengan minimnya pendidikan agama baik dari keluarga maupun instansi pendidikan seperti sekolah dan lain sebagainya dasar untuk dibangunnya sebuah Islamic Center yang diharapkan dapat menjadi tempat untuk mendalami pendidikan agama Islam yang baik dan benar . Perancangan Islamic Center dengan konsep mengikuti perkembangan zaman dan tetap memenuhi kaidah Islam masih sangat diharapakan menjadi image kota Bandar Lampung sebagai kota yang relegius dan dapat memenuhi kebutuhan akan wadah aktifitas ke-Islaman dan membangun kembali peradaban Islam dengan Masjid sebagai pusatnya. Konsep Arsitektur Islami mempengaruhi lingkungan yang akhirnya dapat mengubah pola perilaku masyarakat sesuai dengan tatanan Al-Qur’an dan Hadits dan bersinergi dengan Arsitektur Kontemporer sebagai dari perwujudan fisik bangunan sehingga Islamic Center menjadi tempat peradaban Islam baru di Kota Bandar Lampung. Kata Kunci : Islam, Islamic Center, Arsitektur Islami, Arsitektur Kontemporer Bandar Lampung is still known as the city with most of the Islamic religion when compared with the adherant of other religions recorded 816.807 people are adhered according to the census population data of 2010, the need for worship facilities in the form of mosques very much found. Mosques in various places are mostly only served as a means of worship, and have not fulfilled other needs such as educational activities, religious deepening, social activities, and others.There is a need for a place to do worship activities, as well as the rise of violent acts on behalf of religion, still coupled with the lack of religious education both from the family and educational institutions such as schools and others the basis for the building of an Islamic Center which is expected to be a place to deepen the education of Islamic religion good and true Islamic Center planning with the concept of the development of the Times and still fulfill the Islamic rules are still very hoped to be an image of Bandar Lampung as a city that is Tirta and can fulfill the need for an activity container to-islaman and rebuild Islamic civilization with the mosque as its center.The concept of Islamic architecture affects the environment that can eventually change the behavior patterns of society in accordance with the order of the Qur'an and Hadith and synergize with contemporary architecture as from the physical embodiment of the building so that Islamic Center become a place of new Islamic civilization in Bandar Lampung.
