  • ABSTRAK Pertambangan emas (rakyat) sebagian besar menggunakan teknik amalgamasi sehingga menghasilkan limbah tailing yang mengandung logam berat bersifat racun dan sangat merusak lingkungan. Rehabilitasi diperlukan untuk mengimbangi kecepatan produksi tailing dan menekan kerusakan lingkungan yang semakin parah. Rehabilitasi tailing emas akan berhasil jika dilakukan pemilihan jenis tanaman pioneer dan penambahan amelioran. Kayu kuku merupakan jenis pioneer yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk melakukan kegiatan revegetasi lahan kritis dan miskin hara. Penambahan amelioran berupa kompos kotoran gajah dan asam humat dalam rehabilitasi tailing dilakukan untuk memperbaiki struktur dan sifat biologis, kimia, dan fisik serta mengurangi penyerapan logam berat oleh tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis respon bibit kayu kuku dalam rehabilitasi tailing pertambangan emas (rakyat) menggunakan amelioran kompos kotoran gajah dan asam humat. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 6 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan, (1) media tanam tanah 100%, (2) media tanam tailing 100%, (3) media tanam tailing 50% + kotoran gajah 50%, (4) media tanam tailing 50% + kotoran gajah 50% + asam humat (2000 ppm), (5) media tanam tailing 75% + kotoran gajah 25%, dan (6) media tanam tailing 75% + kotoran gajah 25% + asam humat (2000 ppm). Total keseluruhan percobaan yang dilakukan adalah 90 percobaan. Data diolah menggunakan analisis ragam dan diuji lanjut dengan uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bibit kayu kuku mampu tumbuh dan beradaptasi pada tailing pertambangan emas rakyat dengan nilai indeks mutu bibit lebih dari (0,09), namun penggunaan kedua jenis amelioran belum mampu membantu pertumbuhannya. Kata kunci: Amelioran, asam humat, ASGM, kayu kuku, kotoran gajah ABSTRACT Artisanal Small-Scale Gold Mining (ASGM) mostly used amalgamation techniques which produced tailings. Tailings contained heavy metals which were toxic and highly damaged the enviroment. Rehabilitation of gold tailings would be successful with pioneer plants and the addition of ameliorant. Pericopsis mooniana is a pioneer type that can be used to revegate critical land. The addition of ameliorant such as elephant dung and humic acid to tailings rehabilitation could be very effective to improve the structure, biological, chemical, and physical soil properties and to reduce the absorption of heavy metals by plants. The objective of this research were to analyze the response of P. mooniana seedling on artisanal gold mining tailings using ameliorant (compost elephant dung and humid acid). The experimental design used was completely randomized design with six growth media as treatments and five replications, (1) topsoil 100%, (2) talings 100%, (3) tailings 50% + elephant dungs 50%, (4) tailings 50% + elephant dungs 50% + humic acid (2000 ppm), (5) tailings 75% + elephant dungs 25%,(6)tailings 75% + elephant dungs 25% + (humic acid (2000 ppm). The total number of trials conducted was 90 experimental units. Data was processed using analysis of variance and tested further with a Least Significant Difference test. The result showed that P. mooniana seedlings were able to grow and adapt to artisanal gold mining tailings with a seedlings quality indexs value of more than (0,09), but the addition of ameliorant did not have any impact yet.
