- ABSTRACT EFFECT OF MEAT AJWA DATE EXTRACT (Phoenix dactilyfera L.) OF WOUND HEALING IN WHITE RAT (Rattus norvegicus) Sprague Dawley ABDUL AZIS By Background: Injury is a state of damage to the structure and function of skin anatomy. One example of an open wound is a cut that has the characteristic presence of linear tears in the skin and underlying tissue. The wound healing process requires chemical compounds that help in the healing process. These compounds such as tannins, flavonoids and saponins. One part of plants that contain these substances is the date palm meat. Method: This research was conducted in October-November 2019 at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lampung using the observation method. The sample of this study consisted of 20 mice which were divided into 4 groups. The study was conducted by making a cut in mice, after that the wound was given 4 treatments namely povidone iodine, and meat ajwa date palm extract at a dose of 0.5 mg / ml, 0.75 mg / ml, 1 mg / ml. The data obtained in the form of time in wound healing. Data is processed using statistical tests with a confidence level of 0.05 Results: The results showed that Ajwa date palm meat extract had an effect in the process of wound healing in white rats descriptively but did not provide a statistically significant effect. Conclusion: Ajwa date palm meat extract has an effect in the process of wound healing in white rats descriptively, but does not provide a statistically significant effect. DALAM PENYEMBUHAN LUKA PADA TIKUS PUTIH (Rattus norvegicus) JANTAN GALUR Sprague Dawley Oleh ABDUL AZIS Latar Belakang: Luka merupakan suatu keadaan rusaknya struktur dan fungsi anatomi kulit. Salah satu contoh luka terbuka yaitu luka sayat yang memiliki ciri adanya robekan linier pada kulit dan jaringan di bawahnya. Proses penyembuhan luka membutuhkan senyawa kimia yang membantu dalam proses penyembuhan. Senyawa tersebut seperti tanin, flavonoid dan saponin. Salah satu bagian tumbuhan yang mengandung zat tersebut yaitu daging buah kurma. Metode: Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Oktober-November 2019 di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Lampung dengan menggunakan metode observasi. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari 20 ekor tikus yang dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok. Penelitian dilakukan dengan cara membuat luka sayat pada tikus, setelah itu luka diberikan 4 perlakuan yaitu povidone iodine, dan ekstrak daging buah kurma ajwa dengan dosis 0,5 mg/ml, 0,75 mg/ml, 1 mg/ml. Data yang didapatkan berupa waktu dalam penyembuhan luka. Data diolah menggunakan uji statistik dengan tingkat kepercayaan 0,05. Hasil: Hasil penelitian didapatkan ekstrak daging buah kurma ajwa memiliki efek dalam proses penyembuhan luka sayat pada tikus putih secara deskriptif namun tidak memberikan efek yang signifikan secara statistik. Simpulan: Ekstrak daging buah kurma ajwa memiliki efek dalam proses penyembuhan luka sayat pada tikus putih secara deskriptif, namun tidak memberikan efek yang signifikan secara statistik.
