- ABSTRAK UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIBAKTERI EKSTRAK KULIT NANAS MADU TERHADAP METHICILLIN RESISTANT Staphylococcus aureus Oleh IMRAATUL HUSNIAH Latar Belakang: Infeksi MRSA merupakan masalah kesehatan global sehingga perlu mengembangkan antibakteri baik sintetis maupun alami sebagai salah satu usaha untuk mengatasinya. Kulit nanas madu mengandung senyawa yang berpotensi sebagai antibakteri yaitu bromelin dan flavonoid. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak kulit nanas madu (Ananas comosus [L] Merr) terhadap methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Metode Penelitian: Desain penelitian ini adalah deskriptif eksperimental murni, dengan rancangan post-test control group. Penelitian ini menguji aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak kulit nanas madu dengan konsentrasi 100%, 50%, 25%, 12,5%, 6,25%, 3,125%, dan 1,56% terhadap bakteri MRSA dengan mengukur zona hambat dengan metode sumuran, konsentrasi hambat minimal (KHM) dengan metode dilusi, dan konsentrasi bunuh minimal (KBM). Hasil Penelitian: Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya daya hambat ekstrak kulit nanas madu terhadap MRSA pada konsentrasi 50% dan 100% dengan rerata diameter zona yaitu 19,35 mm dan 16,97 mm. Untuk KHM didapatkan pada konsentrasi 50% dan KBM pada konsentrasi 100%. Simpulan: Terdapat aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak kulit nanas madu (Ananas comosus [L] Merr) terhadap methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). AGAINTS METHICILLIN RESISTANT Staphylococcus aureus By IMRAATUL HUSNIAH Background: MRSA infection is a global health problem which needed to be answered by developing a synthetic or natural antibacterials as an effort to overcome the problem. The honey pineapple peel contains potentially antibacterial compounds such as bromelain and flavonoid. The purpose of this study is to determine the antibacterial activity of honey pineapple peel extract (Ananas comosus [L] Merr.) against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Method: The design of this study was true experimental study, with a post-test control group design. This study examined antibacterial activity of honey pineapple peel extract at concentrations of 100%, 50%, 25%, 12.5%, 6.25%, 3.125%, and 1.56% against MRSA bacteria by measuring inhibition zone with well method, minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) with dilution method, and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC). Result: The results of this study show that honey pineapple peel extract has antibacterial activity against MRSA at concentration 100% and 50% with the average diameter of inhibition zone is 19.35 mm and 16.97 mm. The MIC obtained at concentrations of 50 % and MBC at extract with concentration 100 %. Conclusion: There is antibacterial activity of honey pineapple peel extract (Ananas comosus [L] Merr.) against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
