- Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar berbasis inquiry yang valid, praktis, serta efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Tahapan pengembangan mengikuti Borg dan Gall. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 30 Bandar Lampung Tahun Pelajaran 2019/2020. Subjek pada uji coba lapangan adalah siswa kelas VIII B sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas VIII D sebagai kelas kontrol yang dipilih dengan teknik pengambilan secara acak terhadap kelas (cluster random sampling). Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu lembar wawancara, lembar validasi, angket respon siswa dan guru. Teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini terdiri dari statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Berdasarkan hasil validitas bahan ajar diperoleh persentase sebesar 84% dengan interpretasi kriteria penilaian dari tiga validator ahli yaitu valid. Berdasarkan tanggapan guru terhadap bahan ajar dengan persentase sebesar 78% yang artinya bahwa kepraktisan bahan ajar yang dikembangkan dalam kategori sangat praktis. Hasil uji-t terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis diperoleh 0,047 < 0,05. Hasil penelitian dan pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa (a) Produk berupa bahan ajar yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria valid dan praktis. (b) Hasil uji lapangan menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis yang menggunakan bahan ajar berbasis inquiry lebih tinggi daripada kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang tidak menggunakan bahan ajar berbasis inquiry sehingga bahan ajar berbasis inquiry efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis. ABSTRACT This research is a research development that aims to produce inquiry-based teaching materials that are valid, practical, and effective to improve students' critical thinking skills. The stages of development follow Borg and Gall. The population of this research is the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 30 Bandar Lampung in the 2019/2020 academic year. Subjects in the field trials were students of class VIII B as the experimental class and students of class VIII D as the control class selected by random sampling technique for the class (cluster random sampling). The instruments used were interview sheets, validation sheets, student and teacher response questionnaires. Data analysis techniques in this study consisted of descriptive and inferential statistics. Based on the results of the validity of teaching materials obtained a percentage of 84% with the interpretation of the evaluation criteria of three expert validators, namely valid. Based on the teacher's response to teaching materials with a percentage of 78% which means that the practicality of teaching materials developed in the category is very practical. T-test results on increasing mathematical critical thinking skills obtained 0.047 <0.05. The results of research and discussion show that (a) Products in the form of teaching materials that are developed meet valid and practical criteria. (b) The results of the field test show that the increase in critical thinking skills using inquiry-based teaching materials is higher than the critical thinking abilities of students who do not use inquiry-based teaching materials so that inquiry-based teaching materials are effective for improving critical thinking skills.
