  • This study is at finding out the significant difference between the students’ vocabulary mastery by using crossword puzzle game and scrabble game. This study was conducted at the SMPN 5 Bandar Lampung. The population in this study was all of the second grade students in take academic year 2018/2019 and the sample taken were two classes, class VIII F consists of 28 students was treated with scrabble game and class VIII H consists of 29 students was treated with crossword puzzle game, by using simple random sampling. The method used in this study was the quantitative method with the comperative design. The instrument of this research was test that devided into pre-test and post-test in form multiple choices. In analyzing the data, the researcher used T-test formula to analyze students’ achievement by conducting pre-test and post-test. The result of this study showed that scrabble game is better technique that crossword puzzle game in learning vocabulary, it was proved by students’ pre-test mean score in crossword puzzle game was 61,50 while the post-test mean score was 84,18. In iii contrary, the students’ pre-test mean score in scrabble game was 48,24 while the post-test mean score was 75,62. The result of statistical hypotheses test found that on significance level 0.05, t-count was -1,762 while t-table with df= 55 was 2,66 or t-count is lower than t-table. The finding of this study state that there is no significant difference of students’ vocabulary mastery after being taught through crossword puzzle and scrabble game technique.
