- Indonesia is a country that consists of many ethnic groups and cultures. One of the tribes in Indonesia is the Javanese. Javanese are a tribe that always upholds its culture and understands Javanese life that always holds politeness, including in interacting and communicating. One that is firmly held by the Javanese people is the philosophy of life or outlook on life. The tradition of wandering causes them to migrate inevitably have to live in a community that is not Javanese. Contact with other communities and cultures, both directly and indirectly, can cause socio-cultural changes in society. This study aims to determine and analyze changes in the philosophy of life of the Javanese people, the causes and strategies to maintain the philosophy of life of the Javanese people. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews and documentation. This research was conducted from 11-20 May 2019 in Rajabasa District. The results showed that in ancient times Javanese philosophies were still strongly held by the Javanese people. However, nowadays there are not many Javanese people who use these philosophies, do not apply them in daily life and many do not know and understand the philosophy of this Javanese tribe, then the attitude of the Javanese people also changed, they no longer make that philosophy as a foundation or a way of life. This is caused by the factors of the times, the surrounding environment and the influence of other peoples / foreign cultures. The strategy to maintain it is to love our own tribe, not easily influenced by other cultures, and the application of the family environment. Keywords: Change, Javanese Philosophy, Overseas
