- Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah kesantunan bertutur dalam talk show “Indonesia Lawyers Club” dan pengembangannya sebagai materi mata kuliah berbicara. Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mendeskripsikan penggunaan kesantunan dalam talk show “Indonesia Lawyers Club”, (2) menghasilkan produk berupa buku teks santun berbahasa dalam debat. Metode penelitian mengacu pada (1) metode deskriptif kualitatif serta (2) metode penelitian dan pengembangan Borg and Gall yang meliputi a) pengumpulan data, b) desain produk, c) validasi desain, d) perbaikan desain, e) uji coba produk, f) revisi produk akhir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penaatan keenam maksim kesantunan dalam talk show telah terealisasi seluruhnya dan ditemukan 151 data. Pelanggaran maksim tidak sepenuhnya terealisasi, yaitu maksim simpati yang tidak pernah dilanggar dan pelanggaran ditemukan sebanyak 126 data. Kesantunan bentuk tuturan langsung sering digunakan dalam diskusi dengan jumlah 72 data. Kesantunan bentuk tuturan tidak langsung juga didayagunakan dengan baik dalam diskusi dengan ditemukannya 74 data dari keseluruhan dialog dalam talk show. Hasil penelitian ini dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan ajar berbentuk buku teks yang layak digunakan dalam mata kuliah berbicara. Hal ini terlihat dari hasil uji ahli materi pembelajaran memperoleh nilai 91,42% kategori sangat layak, ahli media memperoleh nilai 92% kategori sangat layak, ahli praktisi memperoleh nilai 94,28% kategori sangat layak. Uji kelayakan bahan ajar oleh dosen mata kuliah berbicara memperoleh nilai rata-rata 96% kategori sangat layak. Uji coba produk pada kelas memperoleh nilai 82,62% kategori sangat layak. Kata kunci: buku teks, kesantunan bertutur, dan talk show ABSTRACT The problem in this research is the politeness of the speech in the talk show “Indonesia Lawyers Club” and its development as a material for speaking subjects. This study aims (1) to describe the use of politeness in the talk show “Indonesia Lawyers Club”, (2) to produce products in the form of polite textbooks in debates. The research method refers to (1) descriptive qualitative method and (2) Borg and Gall research and development method which includes a) data collection, b) product design, c) design validation, d) design improvement, e) product testing, f ) final product revision. The results showed that compliance with the six politeness maxims in the talk show was fully realized and found 151 data. Maximum violations are not fully realized, namely sympathy maxims that have never been violated and violations found in 126 data. The courtesy of direct speech forms is often used in discussions with a total of 72 data. The courtesy of the indirect speech form was also utilized well in the discussion with the discovery of 74 data from the entire dialogue in the talk show. The results of this study are used as teaching materials in the form of textbooks that are suitable for use in speaking courses. This can be seen from the results of the expert test the learning material obtained a value of 91.42%, the category was very feasible, media experts obtained a score of 92%, the category was very feasible, practitioner experts obtained a value of 94.28%, the category was very feasible. The feasibility test of teaching materials by speaking lecturers gained an average score of 96%, the category was very feasible.
