- Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) informasi mengenai jenis pekerjaan penduduk yang bekerja di sekitar obyek wisata Pulau Pahawang Besar, (2) tingkat pendidikan anakpenduduk di sektor obyek wisata Pulau Pahawang Besar, (3) pendapatan yang diperoleh setiap penduduk di sektor obyek wisata Pulau Pahawang Besar, dan (4) jumlah tanggungan kepala keluarga di sektor obyek wisata Pulau Pahawang Besar. Metodepenelitianyangdigunakandalampenelitianiniadalahmetodedeskriptif.Popula si dan sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 25 orang. Teknik analisis data menggunakan pesentase dengan pendekatan kerungangan spasial. Hasil penelitian menunjukan: (1) Jenis pekerjaan terbagi menjadi 7, yakni motoris, pedagang makanan, pedagang baju, jasa mck, jasa sewa ban, jasa snorkling, dan jasa kebersihan pantai, (2) Rata-rata pendapatan sebesar Rp.1.370.000/bulan, (3) Pendidikan anak penduduk mayoritas pada tingkat pendidikan Sekolah Dasar (SD) dan Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) dan (4) jumlah tanggungan penduduk mayoritas kategori kecil, yakni sebanyak 23 orang (92%). Kata kunci : sosial, ekonomi. This study aimed to find out: (1) information about the types of occupations of working population in tourism sector around Pahawang Besar Island, (2) level of education of population’s children around Pahawang Besar Island, (3) income obtained by every resident who work in tourism sector in Pahawang Besar Island, and (4) burden amount of head of family who work in tourism sector in Pahawang Besar Island. The research method used in this research is descriptive method. Population and sample in this research counted 25 people. Data analysis techniques used percentage with spatial approach. The results of the study showed: (1) The type of occupation is divide into 7; namely motorists, food vendors, clothing seller, public toilet service provider, snorkeling services, and beach cleaning services; (2) Level of education of population’s children is at elementary school (SD) and junior high school (SMP); (3) The average income obtained is Rp1.370.000,00 per month; and (4) The burden amount of the majority population is at small category, i.e. as many as 23 people (92%).
