- Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang bertujuan untuk menghasilkan model pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing melalui tutor sebaya yang valid, praktis dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik. Tahapan pengembangan ini dimulai dari studi pendahuluan, penyusunan pengembangan model pembelajaran, validasi, uji coba lapangan awal, dan uji lapangan. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas X SMAN 1 Kotabumi Lampung Utara tahun pelajaran 2018/2019. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, angket, dan tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah statistik deskriptif dan Uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model penemuan terbimbing melalui tutor sebaya yang dikembangkan memiliki kriteria valid dan praktis dengan rata-rata skor 92,5. Selanjutnya rata-rata skor N-Gain kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik setelah diberikan pengembangan model penemuan terbimbing melalui tutor sebaya lebih dari rata-rata skor N-Gain kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik yang mengikuti model penemuan terbimbing yaitu 0,74 > 0,57, sehingga pengembangan model penemuan terbimbing melalui tutor sebaya efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model penemuan terbimbing melalui tutor sebaya valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik. Kata kunci: Model penemuan terbimbing, tutor sebaya, kemampuan komunikasi matematis abstract This research is a development research which aims to produce guided discovery learning model through peer tutors that is valid, practical and effective to improve students' mathematical communication skills. This stage of development starts from a preliminary study, preparation of the development of learning, validation, preliminary field testing and main field testing. The population of this research was all students of grade X of SMAN 1 Kotabumi Lampung Utara in academic year of 2018/2019.The research data was obtained through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests of mathematical communication skills. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistics and t-test. The results of the study show that guided discovery learning model through peer tutors developed has valid and practical criteria with an average score 92,5. Furthermore, the average N-Gain score of students' mathematical communication skills after being given the development guided discovery learning model through peer tutors has was more than the average N-Gain score of students' mathematical communication skills who participated in the guided discovery learning model that is 0,74 > 0,57, so that the development of guided discovery learning model through peer tutorsis effective to improve students' mathematical communication skills. It can be concluded that guided discovery learning model through peer tutors is valid, practical and effective to improve students' mathematical communication skills.
