- Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi bertahan hidup mahasiswa Papua perantauan di Universtas Lampung.Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif yang mengkaji perspektif partisipan dengan strategi-strategi yang bersifat interaktif dan fleksibel.Teknik penentuan informan dalam peneliti ini menggunakan teknik sampling purposive (purposive sampling) yakni teknik ini mencakup orang-orang yang diseleksi berdasarkan kriteria-kriteria tertentu yang dibuat periset berdasarkan tujuan riset.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa, beberapa informan mahasiswa perantau asal Papua yang kuliah di Universitas Lampung mengatakan bahwa mereka memiliki strategi bertahan hidup yang masing- masing informan dapat mencukupi kebutuhan hidupnya dari beasiswa yang diterimanya, dengan strategi aktif dimana mereka menggunakan segalahpotensi yang dimilikinya untuk bertahan hidup, dan strategi pasif dengan meminimalisir pengeluaran biaya agar tercukupi semua kebutuhannya, serta strategi jaringan yang mereka gunakan untuk menjalin hubungan yang baik dengan masyarakat sekitarnya agar mereka dengan menjalin hubungan yang baik, Mahasiswa perantau asal Papua yang kuliah di Universitas Lampung dapat bersosialisasi dengan baik. Sehingga, mahasiswa perantau asal Papua tetap menyelesaikan studinya sengan tepat waktu, sehingga dapat kembali membangun daerahnya masing- masing. ABSTRACT STRATEGIES TO LIVE IN PAPUA ORIGIN IN STUDENTS (Case Study of Students from Papua at the University of Lampung) This study aims to determine the survival strategies of Papuan students at the University of Lampung University. he research approach used is qualitative research that examines participant perspectives with strategies that are interactive and flexible. The technique of determining informants in this researcher used purposive sampling technique, which included people selected based on certain criteria made by researchers based on research objectives. Based on the results of the study, it was found that, some of the nomads from Papua who were studying at the University of Lampung said that they had a survival strategy that each respondent could fulfill their life needs from the scholarship they received, with active strategies where they used their potential life, and passive strategies by minimizing costs to meet all of their needs, and the network strategies they use to establish good relationships with the surrounding community so that they establish good relationships, migrant students from Papua who study at Lampung universities can socialize well.So that the migrant students from Papua continue to complete their studies on time, so they can rebuild their respective regions.
