- Rendahnya kemampuan berpikir reflektif dan self-confidence siswa, salah satunya disebabkan oleh penerapan model pembelajaran yang kurang tepat. Siswa sulit memahami, memecahkan masalah dan membuat kesimpulan dari permasalahan matematika yang disajikan. Selain itu, salah satu alasan siswa sulit mengerjakan soal matematika adalah siswa tidak percaya diri dengan kemampuannya dalam mengambil keputusan tentang apa yang harus dipercayai dan tindakan apa yang akan dilakukan. Permasalahan tersebut merupakan alasan dilakukannya penelitian ini. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan produk berupa sintaks/langkah model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan tutor sebaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir reflektif dan self-confidence siswa. Penelitian dan pengembangan (research and development) ini mengikuti langkah-langkah Borg dan Gall. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, angket, dan tes. Data yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kuantitatif diuji menggunakan uji Mann Whitney-U. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Terbanggi Besar tahun pelajaran 2018/2019. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) model PBL dengan tutor sebaya memiliki kategori valid dan praktis, dan (2) model PBL dengan tutor sebaya efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir reflektif dan self-confidence siswa. Students have difficult to understand, resolve and build conclusions of mathematical problems that are presented. Besides, one of the reasons students have difficulty working on mathematic was that they are not confidence with this decision-making ability about what to believe and what to do. These problems was the reason for this research. The purpose of this study was to produce products in the form of problem based learning (PBL) models sintaks/steps with peer teaching and knowing their effectiveness to improve reflective thinking ability and the students self-confidence. This research and development methods (research and development) following the steps of Borg and Gall. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The data acquired in this study is quantitative and qualitative analysis. Quantitative data tested using the Mann-Whitney U test. The research subjects were student of grade 8th SMP Negeri 2 Terbanggi Besar in the academic year of 2018/2019. The results showed that (1) the PBL model with peer teaching approach had a valid and practical category, and (2) the PBL model with peer teaching used on effective approach to improve reflective thinking ability and the students self-confidence.
