- ABSTRACT COST STRUCTURE, INCOME, AND TECHNICAL EFFICIENCY OF SUGAR CANE SMALLHOLDERS FARMING IN BUNGA MAYANG SUBDISTRICT NORTH LAMPUNG REGENCY By KHAIRUNI SHALEHAH The objectives of the study are to analyze (1) the level of technical efficiency of sugar cane smallholders farming, (2) the factors that influence technical efficiency, and (3) cost structure and income of sugar cane smallholders farming. This research uses survey methods and the research location is sugar cane center in Sukamaju and Sukadana Udik Village, Bunga Mayang Subdistrict North Lampung Regency. The sample from this study is 90 sugar cane farmers that choosen by simple random sampling method. Data are analyzed using frontier production functions, multiple linear regression, and farm analysis. The results show that (1) sugar cane smallholders farming in Bunga Mayang Subdistrict is technically inefficient, (2) factors that influenced the technical efficiency of sugar cane smallholders farming are scale of business and revenue. Technical efficiency of plant cane > kepras 1 and technical efficiency kepras 1 > kepras 2, and (3) total cost for sugar cane plant cane Rp 24.708.205,01/ha, kepras 1 Rp 19.395.354,50/ha, and kepras 2 Rp 18.878.323,82/ha. The biggest cost component of plant cane farming is labor costs (35,09%) and chemical fertilizer costs (20,45%), kepras 1 sugar cane is labor costs (37,23%) and chemical fertilizer costs (23,93%), and kepras 2 sugar cane is labor costs (36,12%) and chemical fertilizer costs (26,21%). The sugar cane smallholders farming in the research area is profitable. The total income earned in sugar cane smallholders farming in Bunga Mayang District, namely in the plant cane of Rp 13.095.729,58/ha, kepras 1 Rp 17.774.513,31/ha, and kepras 2 Rp 14.574.859,06/ha. . Penelitian menggunakan metode survei. Lokasi penelitian di sentra tebu rakyat di Desa Sukamaju dan Desa Sukadana Udik Kecamatan Bunga Mayang Kabupaten Lampung Utara. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah 90 petani tebu rakyat yang dipilih secara acak sederhana. Data dianalisis menggunakan fungsi produksi frontier, regresi linear berganda, dan analisis usahatani. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) usahatani tebu rakyat di Kecamatan Bunga Mayang belum efisien secara teknis, (2) faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi efisiensi teknis usahatani tebu rakyat adalah skala usaha dan penerimaan. Efisiensi teknis plant cane > kepras 1 dan efisiensi teknis kepras 1 > kepras 2, dan (3) biaya total pada tebu rakyat plant cane Rp 24.708.205,01/ha, kepras 1 Rp 19.395.354,50/ha, dan kepras 2 Rp 18.878.323,82/ha. Komponen biaya terbesar usahatani tebu rakyat plant cane adalah biaya tenaga kerja (35,09 %) dan biaya pupuk kimia (20,45 %), tebu rakyat kepras 1 adalah biaya tenaga kerja (37,23 %) dan biaya pupuk kimia (23,93 %), dan tebu rakyat kepras 2 adalah biaya tenaga kerja (36,12 %) dan biaya pupuk kimia (26,21 %). Usahatani tebu rakyat di daerah penelitian menguntungkan. Pendapatan total yang diperoleh dalam usahatani tebu rakyat di Kecamatan Bunga Mayang, yaitu pada plant cane Rp 13.095.729,58/ha, kepras 1 Rp 17.774.513,31/ha, dan kepras 2 Rp 14.574.859,06/ha. .
