  • Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi peserta didik kelas VII MTs Negeri 2 Tanggamus tahun pelajaran 2018/2019. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) rencana pembelajaran, (2) pelaksanaan pembelajaran, (3) penilaian pembelajaran dan (4) peningkatan pembelajaran melalui model pembelajaran inkuiri materi menulis tek deskripsi pada siswa MTs Negeri 2 Tanggamus Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan dalam tiga siklus. Tempat penelitian di MTs Negeri 2 Tanggamus. Siklus I, siklus II , dan siklus III melalui penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pengamatan, observasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) rencana pembelajaran melalui model pembelajaran inkuiri. Pada siklus I, hasil nilai RPP sebesar 63 dalam kategori cukup baik, siklus II 73 dalam kategori baik, dan siklus III 88 dalam kategori iii sangatbaik; (2) pelaksanaan pembelajaran, pada siklus I hasil penilaian proses sebesar 64 dalam kategori cukup baik, siklus II 74 dalam kategori baik, dan pada siklus III 87 dalam kategori sangat baik; (3) hasil kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi dengan model pembelajaran inkuiri dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas VII MTs Negeri 2 Tanggamus Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019, pada siklus I memperoleh nilai rata-rata 62, 65 dengan kategori cukup, pada siklus II rata-rata skor adalah 71, 09 dengan kategori baik, dan pada siklus III rata-rata skor adalah 84, 84 dengan kategori baik sekali; (4) kegiatan pembelajaran secara keseluruhan, baik dari perencanaan pembelajaran, pelaksanaan pembelajaran, dan penilaian pembelajaran dari siklus I, II, dan siklus III mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan. Kata kunci: kemampuan menulis , model inkuiri, teks deskripi abstract The problem of this research is about the ability in writing descriptive text of the VII grade students at the State-Owned Islamic Junior High School of Tanggamus 2 at the school year 2018/2019. The research has purposes to describe 1) the lesson plan, (2) the learning implementation, (3) the learning evaluation and (4) the improvement of the students’ ability in writing descriptive text by using inquiry learning model at the students of the State-Owned Islamic Junior High School of Tanggamus 2 at the school year 2018/2019. The research that was used was the Classroom Action Research Method that was conducted in three cycles. The place of the research was at the State-Owned Islamic Junior High School of Tanggamus 2. The cycle I, the cycle II and the cycle III were done by using the inquiry learning model. The data collection was done through observations and tests. The result showedthat 1) the lesson plan using inquiry learning model at the cycle I showed the result of the lesson plan was 63 and this was categorized “quite good”, the cycle II was 73 and this was categorized “good” and the cycle III was 88 and this was categorized “very good”. (2) the implementation of learning at the cycle I was 64 and it was categorized “quite good”, the cycle II was 74 and this was categorized “good and the cycle III was 87 and it was categorized “very good”. (3). The result of the students’ ability in writing descriptive text by using inquiry learning model can improve the result of learning of the students of the State-Owned Islamic Junior High School of Tanggamus 2 at the school year 2018/2019. The average score of writing descriptive text in the cycle I was 62,65 and it was categorized“enough”. The average score in the cycle II was 71,09 and it was categorized “good” andat the cycle III, the average score was 84,84 and it was categorized very good; (4) the overall learning activity from the lesson plan, the learning implementation, and the learning evaluation at the cycle I, the cycle II and the cycle III has shown significant improvements.
