- Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui rumusan Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan tutor sebaya yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dan menguji efektifitasnya terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Tahapan pengembangan ini dimulai dari studi pendahuluan, penyusunan model PBL berbantuan tutor sebaya, validasi, uji coba lapangan awal, dan uji lapangan. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X IPA MA Ma’arif NU 05 Sekampung Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019. Pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, angket dan tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah statistik deskriptif dan Uji-t. Hasil rumusan Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan tutor sebaya yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa adalah tersusunnya sintak model problem based learning berbantuan tutor sebaya yang memfasilitasi kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Hasil problem based learning berbantuan tutor sebaya efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa, hal ini terlihat berdasarkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas ekperimen yang menggunakan model problem based learning berbantuan tutor sebaya dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis masalah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di atas maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang menggunakan problem based learning berbantuan tutor sebaya lebih tinggi daripada kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis masalah. Kata kunci : komunikasi matematis, PBL, tutor sebaya, ABSTRACT This research is a development research that aims for the formulation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted by peer tutors who can improve students' mathematical communication skills and test the effectiveness of students' mathematical communication skills. This stage of development starts from a preliminary study, preparation of PBL models assisted by peer tutors, validation, preliminary field testing, and main field testing. The research subjects were MA class X students MA Ma'arif NU 05 Sekampung Academic Year 2018/2019. Data collection through observation, interviews, questionnaires and tests of mathematical communication skills. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistics and t-test. The result of Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted by peer tutors that can improve students 'mathematical communication skills is the compilation of the syntax of problem based learning models assited by peer tutors that facilitate students' mathematical communication skills. Based on the results of the above research the results of problem based learning assisted by peer tutors effective to improve students' mathematical communication skills, this is seen based on significant differences between experimental classes using problem based learning models assisted by peer tutors and control classes that use problem based learning. Mathematical communication skills of students using problem based learning models assisted by peer tutors are higher than students' mathematical communication skills using problem-based learning.
