- Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk merumuskan produk model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan menggunakan tahapan polya serta efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI SMAN 15 Bandar Lampung Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018. Pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, angket dan tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis. Teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini terdiri dari data kualitatif dan data kuantitatif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari analisis validitas dan kepraktisan model pembelajaran, serta analisis efektivitas pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL). Analisis efektivitas pada penelitian ini menggunakan Uji-t dan N-Gain. Hasil studi pendahuluan menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa rendah serta dibutuhkannya pengembangan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan menggunakan tahapan polya. Hasil validasi model pembelajaran menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran dalam kategori valid. Hasil uji coba kelompok kecil menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran termasuk dalam kategori praktis. Hasil uji lapangan menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan menggunakan tahapan polya lebih efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran tanpa menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah. Kata kunci : PBL, tahapan polya, pemahaman konsep matematis ABSTRACT This development research aims to formulate the product of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model by using the polya stages and effectively to improve the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts. The research subjects were grade XI students of SMAN 15 Bandar Lampung Academic Year 2017/2018. Data collection through observation, interviews, questionnaires and tests of the ability to understand mathematical concepts. The data analysis technique in this study consisted of qualitative data and quantitative data. Quantitative data was obtained from the analysis of the validity and practicality of the learning model, as well as the analysis of the effectiveness of learning using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The effectiveness analysis in this study used the t-test and N-Gain. The results of the preliminary study show that the ability to understand the mathematical concepts of students is low and the need to develop the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model using the stages of the polya. The results of the validation of the learning model show that the learning model is in a valid category. The results of small group trials show that the learning model is included in the practical category. The results of the field test showed that learning using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model using the stages of the polya was more effective in improving the ability to understand concepts compared to learning without using a problem-based learning model.
