- Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai heritabilitas dan nilai pemuliaan bobot sapih sapi Peranakan Ongole (PO) di Desa Wawasan Kecamatan Tanjungsari Kabupaten Lampung Selatan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di DesaWawasan Kecamatan Tanjungsari Kabupaten Lampung Selatan pada Mei 2018 sampai dengan Agustus 2018. Materi penelitian terdiri dari rekording kelahiran sapi, bobot lahir induk, bobot sapih induk, umur sapih induk, umur induk pada waktu melahirkan, bobot lahir pedet betina, bobot sapih pedet betina dan umur penyapihan dari induk-induk yang melahirkan pedet mulai 2015 sampai dengan 2017. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei. Analisis data yang dilakukan dengan mencari bobot sapih terkoreksi, estimasi nilai heritabilitas, dan nilai pemuliaan bobot sapih sapi PO di Desa Wawasan Kecamatan Tanjungsari Kabupaten Lampung Selatan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, sapi PO di Desa Wawasan Kecamatan Tanjungsari Kabupaten Lampung Selatan memiliki rata-rata bobot sapih terkoreksi induk sebesar 98,87±1,79 dan rata-rata bobot sapih terkoreksi pedet sebesar 140,64±38,87; nilai heritabilitas bobot sapih sebesar 0,40 (kategori tinggi); dan rata-rata nilai pemuliaan sebesar 140,64±15,24; terdapat 5 ekor sapi dengan nilai pemuliaan tertinggi dengan nomor eartag 4462, 3051, 4772, 2493, dan 2211. Perhitungan nilai pemuliaan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 54% sapi PO yang memiliki nilai pemuliaan di atas rata-rata. Kata kunci: Bobot sapih, Heritabilitas, Nilai pemulian, Sapi peranakan ongole ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the heritability value and breeding value of weaning weight of Ongole grade cattle (PO) in Wawasan Village, Tanjungsari District, South Lampung Regency. The study was conducted in Wawasan Village Tanjungsari District South Lampung Regency on May 2018 to August 2018. The research material consisted of a recording of the birth of the cattle, the birth weight of the parents, the weaning weight of the parents, the age of weaning parents, the age of the parents at the time of birth, the weight of the female calves, weaning weight of female calves and weaning age of the parents which gave birth twice in 2015 to 2017. This study uses survey method. Data analysis was done by looking for corrected weaning weights, estimated heritability values, and breeding values of weaning weight in PO cattle in Wawasan Village, Tanjungsari District, South Lampung Regency. Based on the results of the study showed, PO cattle in Wawasan Village, Tanjungsari District, South Lampung Regency the average corrected weaning weight of the parents were 98.87±1.79 kg and the average calf corrected weight were 140.64±38.87 kg ; heritability value of weaning weight were 0.40 ( high category); and the average breeding value were 140.64±15.24 kg ; there are 5 cattles with the highest breeding value with eartag numbers 4462, 3051, 4772, 2493, and 2211. Calculation of breeding values shows that there are 54% of PO cattle that have above-average breeding values. Keywords: Breeding value, Heritability, Ongole grade cattle, Weaning weight
