  • Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen tes uraian berbasis pendekatan saintifik untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas V sekolah dasar serta mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan berfikir kritis peserta didik yang valid dan reliabel. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan yang merujuk pada teori Borg and Gall. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas V SD di SDN Metro Pusat gugus nusa indah. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling, dengan mengambil 2 kelas dari 14 kelas yang ada di populasi, yang terdiri dari siswa satu kelas sebagai kelas uji coba dari kelas VB SD Negeri 2 Metro Pusat dan satu kelas siswa sebagai sampel kelas VA SD negeri 1 Metro Pusat. Data dikumpulkan melalui lembar angket dan soal tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa instrumen tes yang dikembangkan valid dan reliabel. Berdasarkan penilaian dari 3 ahli diperoleh kategori sangat baik. Sedangkan berdasarkan hasil uji empirik, dari 20 soal uraian yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid dan reliabel. Selain melakukan uji validitas dan reliabilitas, juga dilakukan uji tingkat kesukaran dan daya beda. Berdasarkan uji tingkat kesukaran seluruh soal dalam katagori sedang dan pada uji daya beda soal dalam kategori sangat baik dan kategori baik. ABSTRACT This study aims to develop a description test instrument based on a scientific approach to measure the critical thinking skills of fifth grade elementary school students and to know the difference between students' valid and reliable critical thinking skills. The type of research used is research and development which refers to the theory of Borg and Gall. The population in this study were all fifth grade elementary school students at SDN Metro Pusat in the beautiful Nusa Tenggara cluster. Samples were taken using a simple random sampling technique, by taking 2 classes from 14 classes in the population, consisting of students in one class as a trial class from the VB class at the Central Metro 2 Elementary School and one class of students as a sample of the VA elementary school class 1 Central Metro. Data was collected through questionnaires and test questions. The results showed that the test instruments developed were valid and reliable. Based on the assessment of 3 experts, the category was very good. While based on the results of the empirical test, 20 questions developed were declared valid and the reliability included in the category was very strong. In addition to testing the validity and reliability, also tested the level of difficulty and power difference. Based on the test of the level of difficulty of all the questions in the medium category and the different power tests the questions are in very good categories and good categories.
