- Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan desain soft skills pembelajaran matematika berbasis model generatif yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dan mengetahui keefektifanya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang mengadaptasi model Borg dan Gall. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Bunga Mayang tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, angket dan tes. Desain divalidasi oleh ahli desain pembelajaran, sedangkan perangkat pembelajaran divalidasi ahli materi, ahli media serta praktisi pendidikan. Selanjutnya desain direvisi sesuai dengan pendapat ahli. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan desain yang diuji coba lapangan pada kelas eksperimen lebih efektif dari pada pembelajaran konvesional yang diterapkan pada kelas kontrol. Disimpulkan bahwa (1) desain soft skills pembelajaran matematika berbasis model generatif memiliki kriteria valid dan dikategorikan sangat baik, (2) desain soft skills pembelajaran matematika berbasis model generatif efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Kata kunci : soft skills, generatif, komunikasi matematis. abstract This development research aims to produce a design of mathematics learning soft skills based on generative models that can improve students' mathematical communication skills and know the effectiveness. The research procedures carried out include research and information collecting, planning, developing preliminary from of products, preliminary field testing, main product revision, main field tests, and operational product revision. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and tests. The design is validated by learning design experts, while learning devices are validated by material experts, media experts and education practitioners. Furthermore the design was revised in accordance with expert opinion. The research subjects were VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Bunga Mayang in the academic year of 2017/2018. The results showed that (1) the design of mathematics learning soft skills based on generative models had valid criteria and was categorized as very good, (2) the design of mathematics learning soft skills based on generative models was effective in improving students' mathematical communication skills.
